Hello fellow SHO owners! My name is Josh and I recently aquired a 95 SHO with 114K on it.

Just yesterday I was driving a friend back from looking at vehicles and when I pulled into a parking lot which had a slight lip I hit the brakes and the pedal kept depressing even when my foot was not on it and the car came to a stop and the front brakes would not release. I was lost at this point and my buddy and I started checking fuses on the ABS but found nothing. No fluid on the ground, no issues that we could find. A couple people stopped to help and one gentlemen looked over the car and made a call to his brother and he grabbed an adjustable wrench and had me turn the wheel so he could get in to the drivers side caliper. He cracked the bleeder and the front brakes freed up. I thanked him and got the car home and used the brakes with no issues until I pulled into my driveway with a slight lip also and a right turn and the front brakes locked up once again. I tried the same thing the guy did and walah it released them. What could this be? Bad caliper? Bad rubber brake line? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Sounds like you have a caliper problem. Something is hanging up, in the caliper assembly, and it's not releasing the pressure. That's why "poping" the bleeder valve helps. It's releasing that pressure. A caliper re-build, or replacement, should take care of the problem. Used to see this a lot on front drum brakes. :salute:

Appreciate the info. I'm going to try and see if it does the same thing when I pull left into the driveway. It just threw me off big time when it only locked up when I hit a bump while turning right. Thanks again

Since it freed up when he cracked the bleeder, that should rule out a slider pin (maybe). Sticky caliper, or swelled-up rubber hoses.

Loaded calipers are cheap enough. If brakes are due, change out both fronts, and replace the rubber hoses while you are at it.

We had a 1994 GL Taurus, that did something similar after driving through a deep deep puddle (up to headlights).

As soon as the brake pedal was even slightly depressed the ABS groaned the car to a halt. I do believe the ABS light came on. I looked through owners manual and pulled the fuse for ABS (likely ABS motor). The brakes functioned fine thereafter, as std disc brakes, no ABS, ever since 2-3 years.

It does sound like an ABS issue, based on that experience of mine. Does the ABS light come on at all? It could also be as stated above, but, I've never experienced those. It never hurts to check for stuck hardware (guide pins, notch in pad glide area on bracket. :)
