I am pretty sure that my clucth is on it's way out but it has only been a year since I last replaced it so I wanted to check with you guys first. I drove off in the afternoon for a job interview and as i went over some train tracks my SHO stalled out. I thought okay that was weird so I started the car back up and she fired right up and I continued on my way. As I was pulling into the parking lot I made a right turn and the car stalled out again. I am thinking that maybe one of my sensors are acting up and I planned to check some codes later. An hour later, I got the job YAY, and I decided to go home and relax a bit. So as I was leaving the parking lot I felt a bit of hesitation from the clutch as I was trying to leave. In first gear the clutch felt like it wouldn't want to engage but also the engine didn't want to rev. Basically I am releasing the clutch but there is no grab but I have the gas to the floor but I get slow revs like something is holding everything back. So the car is barely moving but I keep my foot in on the gas and then all of a sudden the clutch and engine feels like it comes back and then I shift into second gear. Same things happen in 2nd gear and now I am really worried so I pull over and decided to let my clutch cool down since I could smell the clutch disc burning. I sit for 30 minutes and decide I need to get home before traffic builds up. I start up the car and it drives fine but as I get to the light I put the car in neutral and the idle begins to drop to about 600rpm and then it stalls. Light turns green, I start teh car and it starts right up, I try to go but the car crawls very slowy, clutch pedal completely release and gas at full throttle, it feels like it is about to stall again but then everything comes alive again and before I know it I am doing 50mph. I put on my flashers as the drivers behind me were getting impatient but I am now rolling fine in fourth and I am hoping that traffic keeps flowing because I didn't want to stop. So I get caught at a red light and I expect the same sequence to repeat itself but to my surprise everything is fine and by the time I get home I am at a complete lost. So please help me out, it is a 1992 MTX with a fidanza alluminum fly wheel, stock pp with clutchmasters stage one disc and ceramic TOB with about a year on all of the components and about 7,000 miles. I think the clutch is fine and was just acting up because of the heat outside 98 degrees according to the eatc but I am still probably going to get a new clutch since I have work and school really soon and I do not want to take any chances. Any help would be appreciated and do youthink my clutch is okay or should I replace it immediately? Thanks in advance

I would start with checking the engine codes.
I would also go over your grounds, dis, cam and crank sensor plugs.
How are you're sub frame bushings and motor mounts? If these are really bad, they can put excessive tension on the dis module and plugs.

+1 sounds like you got a bad ground or a bad cam sensor
your clutch is fine, don't bother replacing it

My subframe bushings are shot and I just ordered a new set from Josh so i guess I can't do anything about that until they come in. I hope that this will fix everything because I was terrified about the thought of putting in a new clutch, well the thought of how much it would cost. Wow thanks a lot if new sfb fixes this then you guys have save me a bundle of time and money :thumb:. I guess i will update as soon as the new bushings come in and I install them.

So I just got my ALSFB(thanks Josh for the fast shipping) installed and they are great but the problem isn't completely gone. I decided to have the camshaft position sensor replaced also just for good measure. I bought my own cam sensor and seal but they said that the cam seal could not be put on without dissambling the upper intake. I know that the clearance back there is tight but I am sue that it couldn't be too hard right? Anyways the old cam sensor came off and I did see some oil in the well. They said they would have to charge me a lot just to change this cam seal but if anyone could help that would be nice. The car drives better now but still when it gets hot the car will stumble a bit but it will not stall out like previously. I just want to work out all of the kinks before I start work and school, so thanks.

your dis is hitting the strut tower.

I don't think that the DIS is hitting the tower but if it is how can I tell? What could cause it to make contact with the strut tower? I replace the SFB's and the motor mounts are fine. Do you think I should remove the engine dampners and brackets on the front side of the engine? I just assumed that the oil leaking from the cam seal would affect the cam sensor but I guess I am mistaken.
