Ford Recall on Cruise Control - 08-03-07

I remember seeing a TV special on this issue at least 3 years ago. Ford just did a recall on this? I thought this problem was discovered several years ago and there was already a recall out for it at the time.

This marks the fourth or fifth recall over the years related to problems associated with the switch.

Ironically, the switch isn't what is defective, it's actually made to specification - the problem is the master cylinder itself that causes the switch to fail.

You'll likely see more in the future, I think....

...and now they're talking about adding gen III taurii/SHOs to that recall? Am I hearing this correctly?

Actually, any vehicle that uses the switch is subject to scrutiny.

I got a notice a couple days ago for the repair. I'm the second owner of my 95. Now if I could just get them to recall the leather for the cracks!! lol

So they are fixing the SHO's now? i figured it would take a couple months yet

When I went in last Friday after getting my fuel pump fixed, they said they still have no word on on the switches for the cars will come in, but they guess it'll be the end on the fourth quarter, so November/December-ish.

I got my notice but i'm not about to take the turbo SHO in for service so some hack can repair the cruise controll wiring.

My dealer said parts won't be in til Dec

Hey all,
I called me dealer today & they said parts won't be til December,
but i should bring it in & have it Disconnected. I got the letter
in the mail for my Ranger & went online to double check about
the SHO & yeah it's part of the recall too.


Better idea sometimes i wonder?
