Hey brothers , what's the gap on this s/p ? I'm running E-30 w/ MSD cop's . Are they real goo or better than the Brisk Racing ones ? I'm changing the Brisk for this new ones, cause at idle my car surge a lot to the point that the engine stops when I'm on a traffic light and is getting frustrating !!!!! :( Thanks

I'd try .028" to .030". Silver is a better conductor than platinum or Palladium by far. You might even be able to get away with wider than that. The close Gap is used to overcome The increased resistance created by hi-boost and the high resistance of the Platinum Family metals.

Your issue is likely not the Brisk plugs. I've been using this plug at a gap of .027 just fine. That plug you want to change to is also a good plug, however and would be fine to use as well. They are simply re-designated SP542s.

If you are having a spark issue, I'd be more inclined to blame the MSD coils...they've been known to fail more readily than OEM.

OEM coils are just fine and I would recommend sticking with them....

Read this thread on another forum.

This is why I suggested running a wider Gap.
