So I my '93 MTX has a pair of Magnaflow mufflers on it right now, and it sounds pretty good, but the one muffler has some big holes in it and the car is a little loud even at idle (causes car alarms to blip when rolling past).

I have a pair of Flowmaster 50 series Delta Flow mufflers in my basement that I took off my old Crown Victoria back in 2004, and they've been looking pretty lonely. I was wondering, has anyone else here used these specific mufflers on a 3.0 or 3.2 SHO before? How do they sound? As far as Flowmasters go, the 50 DFs should be fairly quiet (at least they were on the Crown Vic). This pair in particular has 2.25" piping.

FWIW, the car already has an aftermarket y-pipe (not sure of the manufacturer, but the y-pipe looks brand new still so it's probably pretty high quality).

Thoughts, opinions? Keep in mind I already have these mufflers so I'd only be looking at installation cost to get them on the car. I'm hoping it will also reduce droning at highway cruising speeds (which is very noticeable with the holy muffler currently).

Flowmasters make the SHO v6 sound like a chain saw usually. I like the magnaflows myself.

I have some kind of flowmasters on my 91, they sound kinda like a porsche 911 SC from idle-3000rpm. I believe my car is cammed but even then they're quiet which leads me to believe they may be 40s. Heres an idle clip for what its worth

The 50 series is advertised as quieter than the 40 series. Thank you for the clip though! Got any with the engine revving or while driving?

I had 40's on my 90. With my original Y-pipe, it was aggressive, but not offensive at all. I changed the Y-pipe due for E-test reasons, and the car was noticeably quieter. So it is a crap shoot as to what it will end up sounding like. I picked the 40's because they were the same size as the original, and I wanted them up where you don't see them.

Not really, just happened to have that one because I was bored haha. With a smooth rev it just still has the muffled porsche sound. if you quick rev it however it almost sounds like a completely different muffler. The best way I can describe it is the older BMW inline sixes with a loud exhaust at WOT. Not exactly an enticing sound but no exhaust on these cars sounds great in my opinion.
