I called him and its about $1650 with rod bearings and about $1300 without. Seems like a fair price :munch:

Sounds like a deal to me. With that done you will have a car that will become your best friend and never let ya down. Id go ahead and pop for the rod bearings. Every single one of mine was worn into the copper when I replaced them. The car I have currently was done with the prior owner thank goodness.

thats a decent price but if you can turn a wrench and do a little research you can save yourself 1000 bucks by doing it yourself. in a day or 2 your car would be running fine.

No, the connection under the jacket looked like new. I got the alternator tested and it failed. I'm driving my SLO now and I made a decision to keep the money pit. I'll be starting to work on it sometime next month. Full front and upper 60K. My heart sinks when I see it just sitting there. I'm just not gonna give up on that [email protected] that easily...

this is how it all started for me. every few months it was a $250-$300 repair here and there.....

about $4800 later i have a brand new engine, trans, fuel system and so much other stuff but the car still doesnt drive. Sell it, and buy again
