Hello,
I have been a member for 6 weeks and have been a SHO lover for ever. I would like to know what if any differences/advantages are there between the wet, fogger, or traditional? nitrous set ups. I ask becuase I am riding in my ExploDer for the next few months, I live north of Boston and would like to see if all those Japanese car tuners are really correct with NOS and their claims about performance. I have 1994 fairly stock except for the pipe with a KN at the end. I have never been impressed or convinced for that matter about chips. I do understand that I could be throwing about $1500 for the NOS and various goodies this winter. Why not?
Thanks in advance., This truly is the best SHO site on the www!@!@!

Well I see what you need to run wet. I did not figure in the Injectors. I guess puddling would be bad, especially if they backfiresd and blew my motor. It has 154k on it now, it drives like a champ though!

Now I guess the question would be what is the install time for the wet set up??

You can use wet but it must be directly jetted not run though the intake, as you would be puddles and a blown engine in no time. Most people here just use a dry kit and let it flow though the intake.

:stupid: Your best bet is a Zex dry kit (Part Number 82011). Cost ya a lil over $500 from Summit Racing. If $1500's your budget, that leaves you with a grand to do some other nice things to it....

N20 is one of the best bangs for the buck, but if use improperly (start spraying too early, hit the fuel cut-off at the top of the rev range while still spraying), it could be catostrophic. The ricers are right...N20 will definitly give you a kick in the pants once you start spraying, but if you ask around to some of the nitrous junkies on this board (hi Doug!!), they'll tell you that it's addicting and can become an expensive habit.

I, for one, plan on putting my 95 MTX on the squeeze come spring and seeing what she's got at the Convention...

Too true, SuperHO. Nitrous is an ass kickin' good time when used responsibly but it tends to be VERY addictive. I am currently running a ZEX dry kit on my '90 and I do my best to keep it at the track where it is the most fun. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a cheap thrill. Going wet means tapping individual ports and more $$. I would put that toward some sort of forced induction if I was making the choice. Anyway, welcome, enjoy, and be sure to post pics if the motor does explode! J/K. :)

You can find em even cheaper if you try. I got mine 320$ shipped brand new in the original packing about 2 years ago. Use the 82011 takes about an hour to install and is a very good kit. You will have to upgrade your stock fuel system if you spray more than 50 - 60hp thou:thumb: .

As for upgrading the fuel system, do you mean pump? Or would you have to do injectors/regulator also? I know you can get a 155 pump off of apeuse for 70 bucks. Would that cut it?

Sho nut FPR , Just replace the stock pump for insurance [if you get the FPR kit 255] It's just good to mind your P's and Q's with N20 it can make a mess!

I'm not a nitrous guy, but if you are going to do the install and you have some extra $$ - then you would be wise to do your rod bearings. 156K is a lot of wear for the stress that will be applied when you give it a shot.
