Hey there guys, been reading and asking questions around here and now I am an owner.

Bought it on new years eve.
2013 Red SHO - New - MSRP $48005
Performance Package
402A, moon roof, contour seats, voice activated navigation
Dealer options include - Weather mats and cargo organizer
Got the car for $13005 off sticker.... which was very nice.

Got what I wanted for my trade sight unseen. They did all the paperwork over the phone while I was on my way (also leveraging other deals and follow-up calls). To the point where it took me 30 minutes from the time I showed up to the time I left in the SHO.

So - I traveled the 4 hours to go do the deal to South Bend, Indiana - working out the numbers as I drove and worked on other deals at the same time, my phone was on fire, it was the last day of the year - inventory needed to move, special incentives end on the 2nd.... people calling, emailing , texting .. it was nuts. Probably missed on the best buy - a 2013 Demo -5500 miles - all the options above except for the dealer installed stuff for 32500 - but it sold right before I was going to leave the house and was checking on some of the emails and requests I had sent out on late Saturday - early Sunday.

So as I drove away (and on the way there ) the snow was flying. 4 hour drive turned into 6 and a half - stressful as - moving is not the issue, stopping and turning is :) And I love driving in the snow - but first date/drive :) come on! lol

As new years came - listening to XM radio - I spent the new year driving the car with the F-1 tires/skis... but still love the car.

I am attaching a before and a soon after picture of the car....
Going out soon here to get it washed down (as I got home at 2:30 AM - moving a bit slow today..). Tomorrow its off to get all season tires put on.

Ill probably keep the F-1's and get a set of wheels - JUST in case :) But being in Ohio - and my daily driver - I need the predicable and reliable tire in the cold and snow.

Anyhow, that is my story - thanks to all who have helped in my decision process as I was lurking and asking several questions.... thanks again

Chris

Welcome. Congrats on the purchase. Sounds a lot like my 2013. I've had mine since Thanksgiving last year. You are really going to enjoy it.

Are you referring to the resto mod little mustang.... ? Yeah that is a fun toy - got it in July. Hence a few of my statements that the SHO cant be a garage queen but my daily driver.

Thanks for the kind words..... now it begins..
Tire swap
Spare tire search and swap out
Tuning

Congrats, a real beauty.

Did you like the contour seats? Did you get the Mayan seats?

Definitely need to get a good all-season tire on there, pronto!

Yes, I actually like the contour seats. And nope I am all black - which is fine with me, I think I actually prefer that - but then again it wasnt a big deal either way on that part.

Yes, tomorrow - tires tires tires.... which ones to get - hmmm.. MXV maybe.. proven, long lasting ..

Consider Pilot A/S 3 if they have your size. Others like Conti DWS which are cheaper, just not quite as responsive. Both very highly rated by purchasers at TireRack.

You have a lot of snow in Ohio, and it lasts a long time. You will be less concerned about crisp handling and more concerned about staying on the road.
You can go narrower that the suggested tire size on your new tires and it will serve you better in the snow and slush. Look around for the amout of clearance you have in your wheel wells (remember to check with wheel turned both ways as well).
On my Suzuki daily winter driver, we went from 60 series to 70 series tires and got a bit more diameter (as we had the clearance), but you have to check. No matter what you do with your tire size, make sure your outside diameter is at least as large as the suggested tire, never go lower as it shows up in your gas mileage.
Go for a true winter tire (even the ones that are studdable) with a deep blocky tread, and you will be fine.

So.. did you learn controlled sliding on your way home? Had to be a real test of the nerves! Congrads on car and getting home safely.

I thought the new SHO had sensors in the seats that measure the pucker factor and clench you to prevent seat stain damage.
I'd still buy the new one over the demo that has had the snot beat out of it for 5500 miles.
Congrats on purchase Chris.

$13k off sticker?! Is that including your trade-in, or before you got paid for your trade-in?

13,300 with incentives and discounts, before trade. Price was the price - trade is what I was wanting as well ( trade in value ). Carmax buying price from 2 months prior..... on my truck.
