I always wanted one since they originally came out in 1988. I just picked up a 2010 SHO with 118k miles from auction with minor fender damage. Is there anything I should look at now? Of course I will start with fluids and filters but anything else that are specific to these cars? It had a flat when I got it so was driving like a grandma with the donut but just put on new tires and floored it and it put a smile on my face!

  1. Clean the sensors as well - IAT, both MAP sensors, etc.
  2. Check the hoses connected to the solenoid atop the manifold, secure them if need be.
  3. Check turbo piping at the ends for looseness/cracking.
  4. Check the intercooler for pooling oil/crud.
  5. Consider changing the PCV valve/oil separator.
Is there any slime buildup in the coolant degas bottle/reservoir?

Only use full synthetic engine oil, and do not be tempted to extend oil change intervals.

Check what codes are set, with an OBD reader/software. Many do not set a check engine light.

and CONGRATULATIONS :D

I thought you only read about/drove vehicles without spark plugs??? lol

I didn’t think your TCG boys were interested in my rides from their lack of response. I’ve been there awhile and get the cold shoulder lol

I’ll get the OASIS when I get the oil changed and see if it was done. The service writer said it looks like it was well maintained when he did a recall check.
Keep your eye on the timing chain and waterpump. My paranoid preventive maintenance antenna would go up from one that old at auction.

Yep the entire drivetrain.
Just build it to your limits, which hopefully is less than the cars limits.
Build it to 500 or so whp and enjoy it.

So far I get about 22 mixed driving mpg avg and highest of 30+ mpg on highway at 65-70mph I am impressed with the efficiency. I am interested in mods but I know little about this platform.
What are the proven mods to increase power up to 500whp? Where do you source parts from?
