I was finally able to pull the codes that were causing my CE light to come on my 91. Here is what I found. KOEO I got 11, 11, 11, 91, 91. I didn't think it would pull a 91 on that test. Or atleast that is what Shotimes FAQ said. Anyways I got on the KOER a 91, 74, and 52. The cylinder balance test came back fine. Which is good. With the codes I pulled back on the KOER test did I screw the test up or something. I don't know. Any help would be great! TIA

Did you happen to include the fast codes and the single separator pulse in the hard fault codes? There is the flickering fast code pulse (for a digital reader) then the hard fault codes ("11" in your case), the hard fault codes repeated ("11"), then a 6 second pause, the single separator pulse ("1"), another 6 second pause, then the memory codes ("91"). The 91 is the left bank (front) O2 sensor running lean.

91 (R, M) LEFT OR FRONT sensor running lean - Fuel control

During the KOER test, the codes are as follows.

74 Was brake depressed after engine ID was received ?
Brake On Off (BOO) signal open or short to ground - BOO

52 Power Steering Pressure Switch/circuit open - PSP
(R) Did you turn wheel during test ?

Here is a great site to help with the test.

Am I supposed to hit the brake and turn the wheel when doing the goose test? The page on shotimes says to turn wheel a 1/4 turn and depress brake, give it gas. But the page you linked to doesn't say anything about that.

And to answer your question I did hit the brake and I did turn the wheel after the eginge ID pulse after the idle smoothed out. With the KOEO codes that is probably what I saw 11 space(1) 11 space, then the memory code. For that left bank running lean. Do you know what would cause that? And what I could do to fix that. Well I'm going to try and re run those codes and see what happens.

If only one bank shows either lean or rich, it is probably a failing O2 sensor. If both banks are registering rich or both lean, then there is an engine control problem because the chance that both O2 sensors have failed in the same manner is slim. To correct the failed O2 sensor, replace the front bank sensor with a Bosch 13942 from AutoZone or AutoZone.com for $33.99+tax. If the sensors have been in there longer than 60,000 miles, you should replace both of them. The Wells Manufacturing site recommends replacing the O2 sensors along with the spark plugs.

For the KOER test, you needed to look farther down the page for the test procedure. Also given below.

KEY ON ENGINE RUNNING (KOER) TEST

1. Make sure engine is fully warmed. If in doubt, run engine at 2000 rpm for 2 minutes.

2. Turn ignition off and wait 10 seconds for system to shut off. Make sure A/C is off and transmission is in Park (automatic) or Neutral (manual).

3. Hook up light and jumper (or tester if you have one).

4. Make sure vehicle is safe to run and start engine.

5. Engine I.D. should be output.

6. Step on brake and turn steering wheel 1/4 turn.
If the vehicle has an overdrive cancel switch, push it.

7. If a "Goose" pulse is received, move throttle quickly 1/2 way down and release.

8. Fast Codes are output (ignore).

9. Read codes.

10. See code explanations and check components as necessary.
Use FIRST CODE OUTPUT and retest after any repairs are made.

well I finally was able t9o do it right this time. I think. On the KOER test I got back a 91 and a 25. So get some new O2 sensors and see what that does. And now this 25. Knock sensor not sensed during dyanamic test. What does that mean? I don't think my car is pinging. I might have a slight tick but I think it is in need of a 60K. I will say this now, Thanks you so much for the help Scott. Very much appreciated.

The code 25 is defined below.

25 Knock sensor not tested (ignore if not pinging) - KS

Notice the part about ignoring the code if you don't hear pinging. All this means is that a knock signal was not detected during the goose test. Of course, there may not have been any knock to detect and the sensor is performing just fine. Don't worry about this one unless you have a problem with pinging.
