93 atx, so sore from working on this car I figure Ill take some time off and get my mind straight on a few issues. Amazing how the years sneak up on you and just bending over a hood hurts now. I finished up doing both services except the valves: cam/crank sensor, seals, belt, water pump, temp sensors, thermostat, plugs, wires, gaskets. Ill need to tear it back apart tho, its never good when you have 2 of these left over when done..

Not sure how I missed these, they have slight corrosion on them as if they were from around the waterpump but I sure thought I was being careful to assemble everything, guess not.

Few questions about these pics:

When doing the tests, are both of the EECs as shown here the same? I can do a KOEO test fine, get 111. But I get nothing when I try a KOER test. No blinking at all, not sure if that is normal if nothing is stored, thought I should at least get the fast 3 blinks.

My back intake bracket is broken off, so this ground is just hooked to the manifold only along with the heat guard deal for the wiring. Ive read this is not sufficient enough, any input?

This motor mount look bad? When I put it in drive with the brake on my motor tilts pretty bad, just not sure if Im suppose to be getting any play at all. Appears it has done some damage and is causing a power steering leak I need to figure out and fix. Also, I see pictures and stuff of roll dampeners in this area, but it appears I dont have one at all, is that mtx specific or year specific?

This one is simple, did I hook that mess back up correctly?

This wire was spliced in here and goes to

this mess, any idea whats up with that?

Anyhow, looks like this car has been thru alot over the years, just trying to clear my mind on a few things, thanks for any input you can offer.

Hint for next time; Take lots of digital pictures as you take stuff apart to document how stuff goes together. Bag fasteners from each major component in a separate zip lock bag, and label with a Sharpie. Makes reassembly much more pleasant.

Those look like they may be timing cover bolts

the 2 bolts are not timing cover bolts (at least not factory ones....) - they look more like waterpump bolts. depending on what you did for a new wp, you might not have needed them as you might have taken out bolts that were supplied as part of the new wp.

one of those connectors is the eec test port, and the other is the anti-lock brake test port. they are not interchangeable.

the ground on the rr of the engine appears connected fine. lots of guys run w/o the intake support brackets, although I do not.

your photo is of the rear motor mount. if you put it in drive and the motor rocks up, that is the front motor mount that is in question. the one you show looks fine. the atx cars do not have the roll stabilizers - only the mtx cars.

easy way to tell if you have the secondary actuator connected properly - the butterflies will be open w/ the engine off, closed with the engine idling, and you should hear them open around 4krpm under hard acceleration.

the big red wire looks like they might have hot wired the cooling fan to run at all times somewhere along the line. does the fan run when it should?

Right on, thanks. The wiring to a fan sounds possible. It had front end damage and I can see where someone has done a few alterations up front. The sensors and such I changed out eliminated all my codes, but I think it may of ran a little too long being too rich. Still getting smoke out the back, settles down after it runs a bit. Intake had horrible build up, not sure if Im burning thru all that still. Im fairly certain the cats may be toast, but I think Ill just take it down for emissions, maybe Ill get a heads up from their diagnostic. Hopefully I can keep from laughing too hard when it starts smoking on the machine.
