SHOWYA-
Would you mind emailing me how you went about making the 'eyelids' / 'eyebrows' on your SHO?
Ive been meaning to make some myself, as well as some other trim pieces here and there, but havent found out exactly how to go about it.

Sure ... they were being done in fiber glass. They got thrown away ... gona do them in vinyl. :) Ill let you know once im done with them.

Looking good, but why is the doors, fenders, and some other stuff back on the car if they have more spraying to do?

The car is already based ... it had to be apart do to the inside of the (inside) door jambs correctly. So now its being put together to paint the car completely (outside) not by parts. If done by parts a diff times then you might end up with different shades of the color once its reassembled.

Whoa.

But one thing, (this is not meant to offend) if you did all of this work, why didn't you go a step further and drop the engine so you could paint the engine bay to match too?

We are not going to drop the engine. But the engine compartment will get painted (BLACK) to offset the accents im going to be doing in the engine bay.

There has been another postponment as far as the car getting painted. First off, the engine bay has not been painted so that is going to get done first.

Pics here of that getting done ....

Another thing is that i finally got the fuel door i wanted ( OFF AUDI TT ) and had to do some modding to make it fit, It looks much betten than the ford racing unit i have previously bought and have already sold ... pics here ...

HEy! No more characteristic rusting of the Taurus gas filler door!

Looks awesome. Are you eventually dropping the engine to paint the engine bay black?

Also, what are you doing in the trunk? New carpet?

Absolutely beautiful. The silver gas door offsets the orange nicely. The color of your car closely resembles that of my friends' '05 Elise. I'm sure that the flares look even better in person. Waiting patiently for the finished product... :thumb:

I got black new carpet in box ... No need to drop engine to paint around it. You'll see.

I really like that fuel door. I had to shave it down in the back the make it fit a little better. I thought it was all aluminum , but i found out its made some kind of mixed metals, well that made it difficult for me. Took me an hour and a half with a 36 grit grinder !

Yes, the flares do look better in person. I have been noticing the difference between pictures and looking right at it. I know a picture is worth a thousand words but that comes too short to describe the car. :)

Getting Closer ... engine compartment was finished painting yesterday(10/20/2004) ... Still have to worry about the fuel door had to do some cutting to make it sit right. So i wont say when it will be done for sure. Everything is moving forward but little details that appear are going to get taken care of ... no need to cut corners. To think about it, its going to be done and go to storage ( ... and install ported heads, EH runners, BBBs) :) Trying to challenge my bro's friend ... 91 civic hatch, High rev high compression motor (b18c) with 150 nos shot! Has betten anything that has gotten in its way!) Will buy NOS soon too!

how did u get the suede to fit? does it streach enough to apply over top? did u have to remove the factory padding around the door area for enough cleareance between dash and door panals?

There may be enough clearance, my ex, yes ex, pulled the whole freaking door panel off one day  I was floored to say the least :madflame: I didn't say a word, went over to put it back on, the clips weren't in all the way I guess, closed the door, and it split the dash on that side and the conrner by the passenger side :ruhroh: So I personally know that there isn't much play on the sides, but, it could be that the suede will give enough. or there may simply be enough room, What do you think SHOWYA?
