I know you wanted it orange before, I'm guessing you want it on the road so it is staying green? If your going to orange are you pulling the engine and painting the engine bay too? Also a cheaper alternative to a rear adjusting spoiler maybe a 3000GT/Stealth adjusting spoiler, but you might have to have a front spoiler on it too. I know my friends 3000GT VR-4's rear spoiler is going crazy right now because there is no front spoiler so it adjusts then freaks out and goes back to normal positioning  It's hilarious to watch. :)

I am still going with the orange ... just got a gallon of it this past saturday. Im not sure how the spoiler works on the VR4 but i really like the way the porsches goes up and down. If i really want to do this ( i do but money is an issue ) i would have to get another trunk for the SHO and paint it as the rest of the car is painted that way when its done the color wont mismatch. So it will be the spare one. Its not a problem making the holes on the trunk once its painted.

I know this may be a little 'rice - like', but i dont mind ... i want to get a carbon fiber front spliter.

Oh yeah ... the guy that was working on my car just came back from his honey moon. He got married last weekend. So thats another week i got to wait on the car. Hopefully i get to drive it before the winter ;)

You could always get a trunk lid painted later, just have them blend the paint and it'll look just fine if done right. But I bet the VR-4 spoiler setup would be a lot cheaper to do, plus a early stealth/VR-4 has a small trunk lid spoiler that would look good on a SHO. They adjust, once you hit 55mph the spoiler raises up, and under that speed I think it just stays down. Don't know about the front exactly how it moves, but I assume it moves at 55mph too, if you want more info on it go to www.3si.org and check out their HUGE forum, tons of info would be there. :thumb:

Orange? We have some orange SHOs here, you've probably seen the pics. They resemble pumpkins.

Not a bad color for a SHO, though. It'll probably look cool with the flares.

I've always like orange with a yellow pearl finish. Orange with a Ford blue pearl finish might be pretty cool...

I've been following this thread since day one, and the more pics I see, the more I think this would make a good two door conversion, have you ever thought of that.

Anyway, when do we get to see it?

I think its is ready to get painted next week. They have been checking it for any details that might have been overlooked, it seems they got everything covered.

The car is all apart and the windows are off (except for the windshield since they sad it would brake and no guarranties of saving it, its new so we'll leave it alone. Seal was removed). Minor surface rust was found on the edge of the doors and on the roof where the seals are at ... they have been taken care of.

Here is a picture where you can appreciate more the flare on the fender. And as you can see i ended the body line short on the fender right where the curvature starts. I like how it turned out ... looks good when doors are in place :)

It Has Begun!!!

Finally they have started doing the jambs on the car. The hood and the trunk has been sprayed so far. This is only on the 'inside' of those parts (painted and cleared), the 'exterior' has only been 'based' in preparation for when the whole car is actually painted.
