... for a second there i thought it was a SHO :) I agree with RI-SHO, and also there is plenty of manufacturers that make tires in a 19". Pirelli makes them for the 04' Lambo Murcielago and that is a stock rim plus it has a 10inch in width; most juiced supras ride on 19x10 in the back so thats not a problem. At the beging of this project my purpose was just to do something so my 18x8 wouldnt hit on very hard bumps(that only happens because i have a 245 tire) and to give it a different look since there really is no body mods for this platform.

Once i saw what the extra space given by the wide flare i started wanting to get 19s. and its very possible.... i was convinced that i can go to a 19x9 in the back when a saw a lowerd 2004 Audi A4 1.8t with 20inch wheels. There was about 1/4 inch or less in between the flare and the tire. I checked the tire ... no rubbing marks! If they can do it ... i can too!

Racing Hart makes really nice yet expensive rims. The new RH Pro line makes 19 multipiece light weight wheels. And this is what i want but for around 2500 with tires im thinking the 18 going to have to stay on till next summer. Volk Racing maks nice one piece wheels in a 19 inch also.

Yea I had 18x8 on my last SHO with a decent stance on 235/40/18 Pirelli's:

I defitnaly can't wait to see your SHO when it's finished man deep dish 19's without them sticking out are going to look hot!

I can really imagine what look your going for too because my best bud has a older Honda Accord lowered on air bags on 19x8.5 with a custom wide body kit and if you know these cars they have small fenderwalls especially compared to a big 4dr SHO.

If your looking into spending a bit more than $2500 i'd recommend custom HRE's or 3pc Lowenharts or even Dronells if you can still find them, wish you the best with you car.

Interesting, but why wider tires out back? I have seen one SHO with a 9inch wide tire on it, and they were custom rims on a blown SHO. Had 9's up front and 7.5's out back.....

Gives it a RWD look . plus 19x8 up front should have plenty of grip!

Running wider tires out back is going to make the handling suck. The car understeers already, it will understeer even more with wider tires out back, a sway bar won't be of much help there either. I'd go with the same size all around, you'll get better life out of your expensive tires too.

Wider in the rear is just extra dead weight to drag around. And the handling will be pretty poor. Go with spacers or a different offset wheel.

Just one question, and I hope it doesn't offend you:

This facelift must be costing a pant-load and after all of this, it's still a Taurus (a damn nice one, I must say, and I'm sure it has the go to match.... ) Do you love this car that much that you wouldn't rather buy a newer car?
Like a Caddy CTS-V???

Not offended ... and no its not costing alot since my cousin owns the bodyshop ... so he is cutting me a deal, plus he is allowing me to make payments so it worked for me. CTS-V??? Yes ... loved those things. But anybody can go an buy one .... " I guess its just a SHO thing ... you wouldnt understand ..." LOL
Has anybody seen this slogan before?

Anyway ... small update .....

Put 9 inchers up front also, or at least 8 1/2.

Are they charging you hourly to do all this? Or was it a deal you worked out? I can't imagine them liking the car sitting around for that long (Even though they are working on it). BTW Looks so sweet! :thumb:

We worked out a deal. I did sit for a month or so. Since they got swamped with work and they were using my car for "filler work" so it would get worked on about an hour a day which kind of ticked me off. So i talked to them again and finally got them to work on it alot more.

Hey Ramon!
I just cought up on your thread here. You my brother are the man!

Everything is looking great, I'm really impressed with your diffusion of the negative feedback on your (emphasis on your) project. But I suppose if your comfortable with where your taking the project a little negative feedback can keep you equally focused on what you want to do as well as alternative approaches.

Regardless, it was great meeting you, glad you came out. I'd like to put to gether something at my ranch before winter, perhaps the unveiling of your SHOwidebody?? I'm sure everyone from Shocago would come out!

I'll keep you posted. Good luck with the rest of it!

I had looked into that color but it wasnt to interested in it. The one i have aquired is from a 2005 Nissan Sentra (special edition). The color is only availabe for that model only. It just looked awesome when i saw it. I stopped by the dealership and got the color code off the car. I was able to get a formula for it since i work at a body shop.

If anybody needs to get a formula for any paint just get the 3 or 4 digit code(depending on manuf.) and i will provide you with the formula so you can get an exact match. :)
sweet I have a few codes I would like the formula for.
