My plans are to do the dash in black suede together with the roof also. Some parts of the dash will be painted the same color of the car. I also want to switch the seats to aftermarket ones ... i was thinking about MOMO seats since my sound system is all polk/momo speakers. On the carpet i going to change it to a black also but i have seen in Audi TTs that the carpet is really flat and looks really clean. So i want to see what kind of carpet material is that. Almost looks like twead. But i think im keeping the interior , seats , carpet and back seat to just plain black.
Here is a picture of the seats ...

You realize how expensive Alcantara is right?? To do a dash, you won't have much of a choice but to use it. If you try and use ultrasuede it will fade within a few months and will be a nice shade of purple. Ultrasuede is for home interior use and has almost no UV protection, but is much cheaper then Ultrasuede. Alcantara is what is used in the S4 and other European cars and it costs over $100 sq/yd. If you have the $$ thats cool, it'd just be a shame to spend the money to have the dash done and then have it fade in a really short time because it was the wrong material. I'm not a fan of the cloth coverd dash anyway, I think it looks much better in normal vinyl. The headliner would look good though.
You can probably get away with using Ultrasuede on the headliner, but you'll run into fading problems very quickly on the dash with it.

There is a shop in Union NJ called Design Tech (908)686-0888. They can get you ultra suede and possibly Alcantara. They can probably fill you in more on the qualities of both.

Here is the latest .... the front bumper was cut, shaved, and molded. Since it is still in the fiberglass form you cant really see the flare on the bumper. It looks really good when you see it at the level of the bumper. There was not enough room to take a picture from that angle.

More progress , more pictures , closer to completion...

I showed up to the body shop with a 12 pack of beer for my beloved body workers and to take some pictures of the progress. I am truly amazed on how the car is turning out. The fender flares really give you a WOW type feeling when you see them ... but once you see the curvature follow onto the bumpers it really impresses you. A HOLY SH*! best describes that feeling/reaction to it. You really have to see them personally at all angles to see how good this looks. Since its still in the works you cant really see the curves and how every thing flows so good. The rear bumper still in fiberglass.....

Here is the front after the fiberglass has been smoothed with polyester.

This last one is to show that the end of the bumpers were cut.

.... And this is how it looks on the SHO!

I would stuff the lightest, biggest, fattest, 18" wheel/tire combination that would fit in those fender wells.

It is going to look great!!!!!!

Im trying to go with 19X8 front 19X9 in back. I gotta get some custom adapters made. :)

So.... your putting on fender flares to fit more rubber for better traction. Yet your going with 19inch rims that are VERY heavy and that barely any performance tires are sold for? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Personally the biggest rim I'd ever touch would be an 18 inch tall rim, that'd be stretching it, 17's are ideal. You can get wide ones, tons of performance tires, about as light as it gets, and you can have good looking low pro's yet drive on bumpy roads without worrying about bending your rims.....

There are performance tires for 19's just more money than most people are used to spending compared to smaller 17" tires, and there are also lightweight sub 16lbs rims out there in 19's once again though there not cheap. IMO if your gonna go all out like he has with his SHO with custom fender flares and all why not go all out with the 19" rims which the majority of SHO owners would never consider because of there price.

I myself have never had problem with damaging large rims I went through a a full summer/winter with my 22lbs 3piece 19x8 Lowenhart and tiny sidewall Toyo Proxes T1S' 235/35/19 tires on my TL-S with it being lowered about 3" through RI crappy *** hole filled roads and winter without ever dented or even scraping one. It's all on how you drive if you plan to treat $4K+ wheels like crappy steel factories then you should bend and warp your 19's for not caring, c'mon how can you not like this look:

Have you seen Toolman's Turbo SHO on 19's? I think it sits nice and I bet the few extra pounds aren't slowing him down any

I know toolman had 19's they look good, but his complaint was..... not enough performance tires out there for them.... Plus like you said there are light weight rims, 16lbs and such, but I doubt he is spending 4k on rims, I mean your rims are 22lbs! 1lb sitting is multiplied by 7 while spinning. So your 5 extra lbs over slicers is actually 35 lbs extra per rims, times that by 4 more, thats over 100lbs in rim!
