hello all, i have a 1993 MTX, and tonight i went to the drag strip. After my first run i noticed a problem with acceleration. I am thinking it is my clutch. In every gear except OD when i hit the gas at any RPM it kind of jerks around, then moves, then jerks around some more. Im no pro here but thats what im thinking. Is it possible to screw up the clutch that bad on only one run? The clutch is only 6K old, but i can honestly say i dont think i broke it in well headbang , possibly glazed over? I need some opinions.

thanks in advance,

eric.

How much of a break in did you give it? Mine needed about 1000 miles before it stopped slipping at redline shifts.

ok update:

i tryed starting it out in third today , gave the revs to 2 grand, and almost had the clutch all the way out before it almost killed. what exactly does this mean? i also took it out in a spirited drive to see if anything was different, and today when i put it to the floor once, the gas pedal took a second and then shot back up, any ideas on what that could be? it seems there is a slight ticking in the back half of the motor, im clueless so any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

lol dude, starting out in third is BAD. I really would NOT reccommend that at all. Jerking usually isn't a clutch problem, though, usually thats either the IAB Valve or the MAF or possibly another sensor somewhere. Check your EEC codes and see what they tell you.
