Aside from the Service engine light coming on, what other (if any) symtoms would occur from a faulty O/2 sensor and what if any damage could arise. I have a 97 sho the check/service engine light came on I had it diagnosted at the local autozone with the handheld computer, I can't remember the number of the code offhand but they said it was the sensor before the c/c, I haven't experience any loss or change in performance and I do plan on having this changed this weekend.

Just curious to know.

Thanks :thumb:

It is the job of the 1st O2 sensor to determine the correct A/F ratio. If it is bad I would think you are either running lean or rich. It is also important to know what the code was. Could be something besides a bad sensor such as a vacuum leak. But this would probably show up on both sensors.

Thanks

Thanks Paul

I've had the sensor changed and the codes cleared, so far so good. The code that appeared was P430 :thumb:
