fan blower kicking on for no reason

I'm assuming that this is just a loose connection. but I am at work and haven't had time to look at it and seeing if it is a common problem. My car is a 92 and the fan for the climate control will randomly kick on and off even with the climate control off. I can hear a clicking noise from behind the glove box and I'm guessing that it is something with the fan motor itself as the fan will kick on without the climate control on. the fan kicks on at 100% full speed when it does.

any ideas?

when i first crank my car i have a similar problem with it blowing on max defrost. The display will say OFF on it the whole time, and it doesn't matter what buttons i push it does it for awhile then randomly turns off.

Gremlins I think!

I replaced the EATC with a new unit and it still does it ;-/

Some people have said its the blend door actuator but i'm not sure thats the same thing.

Actually a common problem.Under the dash mounted to the blower box there is a relay that goes bad and defaults to max fan when it craps out,I might be wrong but if memory serves me right it,s called a blower relay sensor,or blower speed relay.Do a search on here for further instuctions on repairing it. It is a real easy job that shouldn't take long to do,I believe I was done in about 30 mins

so I got one out of a lincoln continental and now the fan will only turn on when I turn it to full blast. No slower speeds.......
anyone got one for sale?!
I think the JY one i bought may be bad
