Anyone know who can do extrude honing?? I looked on the internet but diddn't find anything specific. I know some of the V6 guys have had this done to thier intake runners. I plan to do my exhaust manifolds.
There is another post in AZSHOC like this one because that's where I live. I'm posting here to possibly get more feedback ;)
Any info is appreciated.

Extrude Hone is a process of porting that uses a ball of abrasive material that gets forced through whatever it is you are porting. There is only one company that does this and refers to it as extrude honing.

http://www.extrudehone.com/

Check out their powerflow link for more information on automotive applications. Contact Rick Miller over there if you want to send in your runners for EH'ing.

EDIT: I just played around with the site and couldn't find the Powerflow link anymore. Do a search for it and click the first link that comes up.

I suppose I misunderstood then. Extrude Hone is the only company that extrude hones.

Check out this link if you didn't see my Edited version of my original post.

IIRC extrude honing the Gen III SHO manifolds causes a loss of power. I remember someone mentioning that the manifolds are already pretty large and are fine as is. I would, however, attempt to have the intake runners ported. In combination with some BBB's, this should net some decent gains.

I'm glad someone brought this up. I've never actually seen the inside of the exhaust manifolds but had figured they could be improved. Ford has probably tuned the cast to work well with the heads. Thanks.

Those are initial gains that Kirk and Chris did to see if there WERE any gains possible. More scientific tests will be done hopefully soon to give more of a hard number for the increases.
Oops. Thanks for the clairification.
