Exhaust upgrade

Hey guys,
So today I finally got my 94 in the garage and up on jack-stands for an inspection and to begin working on mechanical restoration. The first thing I noticed is the exhaust is GONE on this SHO. I’ve included some pics for lols but my question is:
What to buy?
I am aiming to put a tune on her as well as some performance mods, but don’t know what is recommended for the ATX’s. I found the SHO source Y pipe, but is that the best option?

there are few modifications still around. It was a small market when we were at the peak and that has fallen off considerably. Crank position sensors are getting rare as hen's teeth and a failed one without replacement will leave you with a lawn ornament.
I would get the sho source ypipe. Honestly, given the limitations of the platform, I would just get it back to as good a shape as possible and enjoy it that way. There is not a ton of power to unlock with bolt ons and a tune. Very little **** for the buck until you do massive mechanical changes (bore and piston change) or try and ******** forced induction. With the scarcity of parts and the auto ****** not the beefiest, I would go stock and pretend you're back in 1994 and still really quick compared to other cars. I've been on these cars for years and bought about every bolt on I thought would make it faster. Meh. Results not exciting. I just enjoy it for what it is. The ecoboost cars can take a tune and make a difference not these.

Funnily enough the first thing I bought for this car was a CPS. Lol. Was looking into forced induction with the positive displacement supercharger, but that will be down the line. Right now just working on getting it on the road, but the parts I have to replace right away I may as well go all in on, due to the plans for the car.

The Shosource Y-pipe or Magnaflow y-pipe is for an manual transmission car. Is your Y-pipe that bad? The ATX Y-pipe isn't as restrictive as on the MTX car. An aftermarket exhaust will be a used one if you can find someone selling it.

If you just want to get it back on the road, I would consider finding an exhaust from another ATX SHO that lived in a rust free state or was not driven much in winter.

I just noticed there is auto starring out words. Is this a feature adjustable on my end or is it for the main software that runs the whole forum? It starred out the shortened word for transmission and the first word in the common phrase w/letter change bamg for the buck in my post above. I think the other word was close to snap-on to mean attach a s/c turbo. This is weird.

Pretty sure it starred it out because the forum though you swore *gasp*. The rest of the car is surprisingly rust free, I have one spot in the engine bay and one spot on the rear passenger door jamb that needs some sheet metal, but all the paint is good. Surprisingly, everything on the underbody is clean for a Michigan car (aka the rockers are all there). Just needs a wire brushing and some underbody coat and it’ll look good as new. As for the Y piping that Zoomlater asked about, it looks to be in good condition but if I’m digging into the exhaust I may as well upgrade what I can. And if I end up leaving the Y pipe, what mufflers and down pipes from there sound the best?

And by the way, I am planning on swapping an MTX in at some point, so if anyone could point me in the direction of a good how-to thread it would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Oh that's a chore. Contact Rubydist for tips. Most of us put the 3.2 into the manual car so no real wiring issues. There are a few differences with the auto to mtx
