exhaust leak

Besides being annoying, how will an exhaust leak effect my performance? I plan on going to the dragstrip tomorrow night, and was wondering if it would hinder my performance or maybe help it. The exhaust leak is between the catalytic converters and where the exhaust branches off into 2 (kinda below the rear drivers side passenger seat.)

It depends an many things like, if the leak is before or after the oxygen sensors, and how bad the leak is.

The leak is quite loud, and it is after the O2 sensor.
