One of the exhaust insulators that attaches at the muffler has rotted away. I've been searching for a replacement but have been unable to locate one. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket or maybe a part from another vehicle that will work (possibly its the same across all Taurus models for this gen)? The part currently on the car is has part#F6DZ-5F262-DA however this comes up as the part for a 1998 V6. I'm wondering if at some point these were replaced but with the wrong part.

Any help is appreciated.

Not knowing exactly what the missing unit is (is it the rubber part or the steel rod that is attached to the pipe, or the steel **** on the frame?), it is hard to know what to advise.
I would go to the GenI RockAuto listing and look at the sketch that displays the different type of hangers available. The rubber isolators are shown fairly accurately.

For some reason, the GenI listing is the most informative of all the listings when it comes to these parts, but I used them on my 95 when I installed the Borla exhaust, and they are the same.

Should be the same for all 3rd gen Taurus. The F6 part number is a 1996 part number...there are plenty of the OEM isolators on ebay.
