So now even with the stater shaft bein' able to move up and down about 1/4", Net Gear Head and their dyno place said it should be good and put it in. My dad's cusin's shop and their tranny shop (Trans-Auto) said it was no good but put it in anyways. It's outta the shop and they don't want it back after sittin' on a lift for over a month. I picked it up and took it home. First thing I noticed was that it sounded like they might have forgotten to hook the exhaust up again because it was LOUD. It shifted sweet. The only thing I noticed was when it would go into overdrive, the RPMs would drop to about 2K at 60mph and then jump to 2.5K for just a second or two, then back to 2K. I don't know if that's bad, just seemed weird. I have no clue how the TransGo should make it feel. My old tranny was all custom by some Ford master techs and the shifts felt like the Gen III's shifts.

I went to my work to get it washed. Sittin' on a lift in a busy shop for over a month had given it a nice layer of crud. Just before pullin' into the wash, my friend noticed the SHO was smokin'. I parked it quick and shut it off. Without bein' able to get under it (thanks Eibach) all I could see was tranny fluid was pourin' out onto the cats and burnin' up. I called Net Gear Head and they said they'd pay to have it towed and checked out. I had it towed to TSI. TSI looked at it and they say it's comin' from the front seal. They said they'd be suprised if it was just a bad seal but it might have been installed incorrectly. I called Net Gear Head to tell them what TSI had found and got even worse news. The guy that's been helpin' me out there is no longer with them. Outta nowhere, the only person that knows what's goin' on is gone. He was the one that said they'd pay for all the extra labor back when the tranny had to be removed again to be rebuilt the second time. He was the one that said they'd pay for the tow and the work at TSI. So I try to explain the situation to the guy on the phone. He talks to his boss and says that they want TSI to pull it and see what's wrong because they think my dad's cusin's shop installed it wrong. Up until now, no one was pointing fingers. I talked to TSI and they said they'd pull it and look at it. I'm waiting to hear from them.

At this point all I want is for them to pay for all the labor up until this point and refund my money and I'll get a Doug Lewis transmission. Is it wrong to ask them to do that at this point? I sent it back to them to rebuild it a second time when it should have been done right the first time and it was still bad the second time. Then they want it put in against what 2 other shops say. It doesn't work right after bein' put in anyways. I've had loaner from my dad's cusin's shop for the first month and I've gotten rides to work from friend's for the last 2 weeks. Would it be ok to ask for a refund at this point? They still owe me $100 for the extra transmission core that I sent them. Then again the guy that no longer works there was the one that said they would. They can keep it if they refund my money.

My dad's a lawyer and he's willing to sue them if it comes to it. We'd rather not go that route and being their in another state, we'd have to sue them in their state, makin' it a pain. It's easier to work with them but at what point do I stop giving them a chance to fix the problems. I can't keep goin' without a car. I can't keep getting rides from friends. I was plannin' on goin' to our cabin for the week but can't cause I don't have a car. I thought I'd have it 3 months ago.

What should I do??? frown

Get another SHO, period. You've had problems with this car from the start. I can't see it ending anytime soon.

I feel your pain! It really sucks to pay good money and receive crap. I had a similar experience with one of my fleet cars. The local GM dealer installed 6(not a typo!) transmissions before I got one that lasted. Some lasted 2 days, others a few months. Thank God for GM's 2 year warranty! I never blamed the dealer though. They got their trannys from a GM parts warehouse and every single one had something put together wrong inside. But finally I got a good one and it has over 100k miles and still shift smooth. They also installed a tranny in another car for me, but thankfully the car was totalled in an accident just as the tranny started to slip with only 50k on it!

I learned my lesson though. All my transmission work now goes to the local specialist who's been rebuilding tranny's for 15 years. He removes the tranny, rebuilds it and puts it back in, all in his own shop and backs it up with a good warranty. Never had a problem since.

my transmission does the same thing when the torque converter is locking up. the guys at the transmission shop said it was a side effect of the kit.
