Houston to Mike, come in Major Mike...

Any feedback on the timing issue yet? I saw Speedy's post saying he was moving to Ohio soon, kind of indicated that progress was made on the car, yes? Curiosity is killing the cat on this one. Hope it worked out.

Sorry Sir... :)

I've been going through **** trying to find the template to align the cams. I called SHO Shop, did a search here, emailed some more knowledgeable people then myself, and nothing.

That is until Mr Thomas Dooley rang my cell phone last night. He took the time to explain how to "rig" my own template and offered to fax me the sheet on how to do. He was beyond helpful.

So, that is the next step and to be honest Fred, after what you said about cam timing, talking to Eric, and breaking down and going over all the symptoms, I'm confident you are right. I hope you are right and my Paypal account currently has 26.13 in it. :D

Thank you for your "motivated" concern. wink

Mike, Although $25 buys a round of Sam Adams Light, it's more the curiosity factor, truly. Best of luck with it & let us know how you make out.

Side note: Look into getting one of the Engine Toolkits. Wise investment.

Good luck with the cams, and I hope you've found you're problem. But as far as someone was talking about the timing marks on the timing belt. It really doesn't matter where the marks on the belt are when you put the belt on, they are just there to help in aligning the cam sprockets and the crank. Even if you line all the marks up once you rotate the crank the marks on the belt never line up again. Just wanted to say that, if it made any sense.

lol, we've been doing some of the other jobs on the car. There is plenty to do, and I would like to know that once we get over this hurdle we will be approaching finishing the car. I anticipate getting to the cams Monday.

Thanks all... I will be going in Monday to check the cams and fuel pressure.
Ah, apparently we all wrote down the wrong Monday on the calendar... wink

Good luck Mike.

Change of plans... I forgot to have my secratary update the forum on my schedule. :)

We have another hurdle to hop over now...

Thanks for the concern... I will be the happiest man once I see that car drive up onto the trailor under it's own power.

Damn, this is better than a suspense thriller!

*drumroll* will the sho start or won't it? I don't know, what do you think, he thinks its the cams, others think its fuel, some think it's spark.

No verdict yet guys. I know I've given you a couple different dates, but we decided to go a different route and get some of the other jobs on the car done in the mean time.

Don't worry. Everyone here will be the first to know! :)

Well, I just spoke with Mike on the phone and he did figure out the problem. I will let him give the details and pics. It is something that we would have never thought of.

Wow. This thread is almost two years old. Yet after reading through all of it, I am also curious as to what the problem was.
