Would the 2nd gen ecoboost D35 engine be a possible swap in the future. i know it adds port injection. was wondering about the possible fitment for a future swap.

Even in the gt I believe it's longitudinal even though some place said it came from the sho.
If you grabbed it from the truck you would need to make engine mounts transmission mounts, transfer case . And cut and balance the driveline re due the intake make special piping for the turbos intake and exhaust fuel line.

If you stayed with the sho you could just create the holes to mount the extra injectors fuel line and it's theoretical to take the pcm from the truck and just program it to work in the car.
In forscan you can retrain the modules.
This maybe an oversimplification but this is what I thought up quickly.

I think at that point you are better off simply using the entire drivetrain from the truck.

Keep the engine mounted longitudinally, amd use its transmission. I'm going to guess it would require some substantial work to the frame/body to get the rear end to fit. I could be wrong though, maybe it would fit pretty nicely. As far as the engine bay I think you could make it all fit going longitudinally pretty easily.

People swap far crazy combos into all sorts of cars. This is definitely possible, but is it reasonable is another question entirely.

I agree it's much desired here as well if your a welder and get a junk truck that everything seems to work no damage will be much cheaper to do but I havent found a wrecked one near me less then 10k and Ecoboost versions are not that popular.

An off-road 4wd Taurus based on the f150 drivetrain? Sounds like a body swap or a tube chassis.

3.0l with 400hp or so would work i was told. You would need to get tranny and driveline from Explorer ST and all its computers. Had a talk a couple weeks ago with a ford tech from across the street, he said the front frame on sho and explorer ST is different but pretty similar. Any swap will work if you the money

Remember that f150 has two 3.5L engine available. The hight output in the raptor and the normal 3.5L

All new bodied Navigators have the H.O. 3.5L and I.R.S. 18 and up?
Nice I saw it seems they only come in 3.5 Ecoboost but didn't see it was h.o

Im actually happy with the engine it has in it now. Ford won alot of races including LeMan with it. Not really any other car you can have in your garage that is powered by the same rotating assembly that Ford won leman with. Yea alot of different parts for leman but in there smaller race class that they won alot in, the engine is pretty similar to the SHO engine.
Little more pride when you drive it
