Engine Support

I'm real close to making the call on whether to do my clutch replacement myself or not.

Would this engine support work?

I have that one and it worked great. What I really like is it folds up small for easy storage. I used short lengths of chain (2, 1' pieces is plenty) instead of the cables that come with it. For me, it worked best to run the support chain around the end of the engine to the bolt on the rear cylinder head than the usual over the rear valve cover.

I think I'm going with the one on Amazon. It's $78 shipped and it will be one less thing to mess with.

Now I have to figure out what clutch/flywheel to get. After that it's time to bust some knuckles like the good old days!

I concur that Josh's video is worth every penny, and it's great that it includes a hardcopy procedure as well as the video. But for the brace, I concluded that by the time you buy the lumber and hardware, if your time is worth anything at all you'll have as much invested in the homemade one as the store bought brace. The homemade one doesn't fold up to store, and it can only be used on a SHO. But there is no wrong decision, just personal preference.
