When I realease the clutch in first, I feel a shudder from the engine through the clutch pedal.

You can feel a little bit of the shudder in the car itself. If I try to release the clutch as slowly as possible or feather it as much as I can, I can sometimes avoid the shudder.

The motor mounts are only a year or two old and they are the SHO Nut reinforced mounts (not the most reinforced type).

Is the clutch going?

I don't remember feeling this at anytime when I've had to replace clutches in the past.

In the past, I knew the clutch was gone when I just could not get the transmission into gear - usually 'reverse' went first.

Being a year or two old doesn't disqualify them from being bad. I don't have an MTX car, so I don't know what a bad clutch feels like :).

Aww, man. Sometimes mine doesn't want to go into reverse. Then again, mine still has the cable shifter, I think. Also, sometimes when I start the car and put it in neutral for a little bit then put it into reverse it will grind a little then go CLUNK. any ideas?
