When I realease the clutch in first, I feel a shudder from the engine through the clutch pedal.
You can feel a little bit of the shudder in the car itself. If I try to release the clutch as slowly as possible or feather it as much as I can, I can sometimes avoid the shudder.
The motor mounts are only a year or two old and they are the SHO Nut reinforced mounts (not the most reinforced type).
Is the clutch going?
I don't remember feeling this at anytime when I've had to replace clutches in the past.
In the past, I knew the clutch was gone when I just could not get the transmission into gear - usually 'reverse' went first.
