I searched shoforum but i could not find the link i need. I remember seeing a link posted a few times that included a complete write up for removing the engine/tranny from the bottom of the car. Anyone know the link i am talking about? I thought it was on SHOPP but i guess it isnt. Also, does the "how to install a clutch" DVD show how to drop the subfame or what? I am looking to do my engine swap and i have never done it before. I have a few friends who have done FWD swaps before and they even have a lift and everything needed.

Thanks a million!

Yes, the SHOnut clutch video shows how to drop the tranny and subframe. Dropping the engine with it is pretty straightforward.

I have been reading a lot more threads dating back to 2002 on the forums... It seems like the majority of people who pull just the engine go from the top. And it also looks pretty straight forward. It just looks like a big task. I do have a shop manual but it does not outline step by step an engine removal but it does give me an idea of what all i would need to remove first. I guess i will be buying the clutch video because i am sure i will use that in the future anyway. I also have some money left over (was gonna pay someone to do this job) so i will be purchasing a Y-pipe and maybe a few other goodies like a CM 1 clutch.
