Engine Noise

I've noticed that whenever I'm accelerating, I hear a rattling/hissing type noise that seems to be coming from the engine somewhere. I just wanted to know if this is a typical sound, or if something like my fuel pump is going bad. :[

Do you hear this noise when you have the hood open and rev the engine to try and diagnose from where it is coming.Try to also tell from what side of the engine compartment and what the noise is closest to.
