Own A 94 SHO ATX, 84,000 miles. Complete upper end redone heads, intake, wires, cps sensor, water pump, plugs,ect. complete. Upon first starting everything was fine and about a week later received engine light, codes pointed to camshaft position sensor.

Okay replaced sensor and all has been fine four about 4 months.

Now she is starting to miss at Idle, during crusing, and badly over 4000 rpms. I get NO engine codes Key Off , or Key engine running.

Stumped, Anyone with suggestion will greatly be apprciated.

Thanks;

Joe Otero

Have you replaced your Fuel Filter?

It sounds like a fuel pressure problem, either a bad pump or restricted fuel flow. Check your plug wells for oil also!

The system had a compltete 60k, no oil in plugs and fuel filter was changed 4 months ago. Is it possible the DIS module to start going bad without and CODES, also can this same theory apply to the coil pack?

A misfire in the abscence of a CEL is either the plugs or plug wires. What plugs and wires did you install? What were the plugs gapped? Have you checked the plug wells for oil? Have you washed the engine with water?

Check your fuel pressure and pump. Maybe you are running really lean at idle due to poor fuel pressure.

Update, No oil in well, but here is a clue. It is at its worst on cold start up (Engine Cold) and badly misfires at 1500 rpms. After you reach operating temp it gets better but occasionally misses. Also I used ALL OEM FORD parts when I did my 60k,

Well here is the problem, Plug wires #4 and #1 at the coil are brownish/red in color instead of the gold. I took and ohm reading of these wires and they are open, all other wires okay.

So what could have happend here? These wires are OEM ford and spark plugs installed 4 months ago.

Thanks

Joe
