91 MTX. Pulled the codes for the light and got only one for my IAT sensor. Turns out it was just unplugged.

How to I properly reset the ecu to clear the code?

When the codes are flashing pull whatever you're using to jump the connectors.

The light should've went off once you plugged the sensor in. Sometimes you will get a code for that sensor even if it's good. I forgot the explanation as to why?

Tried pulling the jumper while the codes are flashing and unhooking the battery for about 20 minutes...both did nothing.

I'd run the codes again first. I'm guessing if the sensor fails it will illuminate the light, i've never had it happen. I don't ever remember reading about it either.

Anyway the sensor is cheap at autozone and it's a good brand. If you want you can find out how to test the sensor with a volt-ohm meter. You can probably check it for resistance but I don't know how to test them.
