my 93 sho since i bought it has idled at 500 rpm and has no power, getting code 216 I was told to change the DIS ok. yesterday it ran like a champ for 2 blocks then went back to missing and idling at 5oo rpm instead of 800 it did for the one minute it ran good. could this be an intermitten DIS problem or is something else wrong. it always smells like its running too rich. Help

216 = coil 2 failure.

that is sometimes a DIS issue, but usually it really is the coil being bad. It may have hurt the DIS too, from the sounds of your experience. I would change the coil and see how it runs. May need another DIS replacement after getting a good coil.

I haven't changed anything yet. It just ran real good for 2 city blocks then back to the way it always runs. I pulled codes again and got 212 216 336. I was checking out a cylindrical plug with only one wire and connected to nothing else and I lost the cap somewhere below the brake fluid reservoir. this plug was near the ebd1 connector. I'm wondering if this would account for the 212 code.

Pictures of connector

Here are two views of the connector I lost the Plug (tip). It's the connector sitting on top of all the other wires. I was trying to get the plug off and it popped out and across to about the Brake fluid reservoir and fell in somewhere around that area, it didn't fall on the floor. It's up in there somewhere. It's not the #2 Spout. This one has a cylindrical plug. Can I do without it? Can I just wrap it with electrical tape? Is this causing the 212 code?

Thanks Guys
