Whenever I have the radio on, I can hear the engine's revving as static in the speakers. It gets louder/more intense the harder I step into it (while I'm moving). I know it has something to do with spark plugs & wires, but I don't know exactly what.

it is called "engine noise." do u have an aftermarket head unit or aftermarket speakers? if i am right, the hum increases whenever you step on the gas. well, most car stereo shops around here sell these things that go onto the wires in the engine bay and it filters out the "engine noise." to tell you the truth i think they are fairly cheap and work great. ask around on this baord to see if anyone uses them

does it hum louder when your rpms go up if it does it's not the head unit its the ground wire either from your head unit but if u have any amp in your car its most likely due to a bad ground just try swicthing it, and if it still hums trun your radio up, and if that don't work just tell your friends that the turbocharger needs alittle work

It could also be that your RCA cables and your power wires are running too close to each other (assuming you have a system) just try running them on opposite sides of the car.

Yes try to make sure that your RCA's and and power are not too close together. But before you do that if you have a amp with RCA with the car on and engine running remove the RCA's from the amp or head unit, if the noise goes away( which it usually does) go to Radio Shack and buy yourselg a RCA ground loop isolator. You will also need a female to female barrel conector.

SilverSHO, what ACCEL 8.8mm universal wires are you using? What does it say on the yellow wire jacket? If it says Spiral Core RFI Suppression, then your OK. If it says Stainless Steel Core, that's your problem. The Stainless Steel Core wires are non- suppression type and have very high EMI/RFI (radio static noise) radiation, enough to actually mess up the ECU and other electronics. If you are running the Spiral Core wires, then check and/or replace the condenser on the coil pack.

Its called "feedback"! And it definately is from the ground wire, not sure what does it but I think it may be the ground wire being too close to the power wire!!
