Both my rear windows stopped working from each rear door and from the driver's main window controls. Is the a common part or wire to both rear windows? I was thinking maybe the main drivers door switches are bad. Any ideas?

Did both of the rear windows stop working at the same time? If so, then you should grab your multimeter, access the rear window switches (pull out the ashtrays and remove the screws), and check to see if they are getting power. On my '94, the rear window switches are powered by the Red w/Light Blue Stripe (R/LB) wires that go to pin # 3 on each switch. If you aren't getting power there, then I would suspect something in the master switch. You can also test the operation of the switches themselves while you have the opportunity.

On the other hand, when I bought my SHO, neither rear window worked, and I tested the switches and everything was OK. Problem turned out to be both rear window lift motors had seized up on account of water intrusion. Click Here for Pic. I was able to rescue one of the motors by taking it apart and cleaning it up and lubing it, but the other one was too far gone. To gain acess to the motors you need to pull the inside door panels off, they are secured to the door with "push pin" type of arrangement.

P.S. You should include the year and model (ATX/MTX) of your SHO when you post, or better yet, put it in your signature. ;)

Rockledge gave you the right info. You could also try the following;

Look at the wiring diagrams provided by Bizzy. You can apply battery voltage directly to the positive wires (red/light blue stripe) and the body as a ground.
I would do this at the individual door in order to test the specific motor, eg right rear. If the motor works then you know you have a switch or wire/connection problem.

As stated above you could check for battery voltage at the door. Often you can clean up a failed motor and grease it and get it to work. If you need a motor the motors are NOT SHO specific. They are found in all electric window Taurus' and Sables. The same motors may also be used in other Ford models as well. A parts "Interchangability Book" would tell you this.

If you are not getting battery voltage at the door, eg right rear, then check where the wire harness goes through the front drivers door into the body. These wires get bent back and forth every time the door is opened and closed. Sometimes the wires will break. A continuity test will tell you if you have good wire from the front drivers door to the rear doors, so do this first.

If you do not have continuity, and all the connections are good, then start looking for a broken wire.

The most frequent cause of the problem you describe is either a bad switch or a siezed motor. If you had a blown fuse then none of the windows would work. Electrical problems are sometimes the most difficult to solve, ask Bizzy! rangerj
