I also need to know where and how much the fan switch is to replace. Is it the relay box underneath the fan shroud? The idiot that owned the car before spliced the fan so that it was always running no matter what the temp was. The car never got into the Normal range. I was thinking out making a toggle switch inside the cabin becuase that is much easier than pulling into a dunkin doughnuts and popping the hood to hook up the fan when the car gets too hot, but it would be better if the car worked the fan itself.

The computer sends a signal to the black box above the radiator to close the relay(s) for the fan. There are 2 relays for the fan inside that black box, hi and lo speed. Another possible cause is the "integrated blower control module" , it is located in the air plenum, behind and below the glove box. It gets corroded, and a common failure is that the engine fan comes on hi speed and stays there.

I had to replace that box I dont think it can be repaired, they arent too cheap either. I rep[laced my becouse the fuel pump relay is also in there and I was having intermitent no start. You might want to look at the two temp sending units one is on the first head and another on the back head they are located in the driver side the one in the front head is under the coil pack! thumbs_u
