Hi All,

I have a line on a set of four Elbrus I06 wheels with Blizzaks mounted. They were originally used on a 2010 Jag XS. The specs, as close as I can figure out with a little research are; 40 mm offset, 6.02" backspacing and a 5-108 bolt pattern. They measure 18x8.

Can these be run safely on a Gen I?

Thanks

Ron Porter had those in 17s on his car, but I don't know if they were 8" wide. The 40 offset is a good start, but I think the only way to know for sure is to try them. The rear is the real issue.

Yeah you have to test fit them. The rear fender well on the GenI cars tend to rub a lot of upsize wheel/tire combos. I had to roll the lip on my gen I to fit TSW 17s a long time ago. Gen II no problem with same setup

If those are in fact 18s, I think the tires on them now will be too big. With 225/45/18 or 245/40/18 tires, they should fit with maybe a little work on the rear fenders.

I'm running a 17x7.5 42mm offset wheel, off a Volvo, and the wheel is real close on the rear. The 8" wide may need some trimming and/or massaging on the rear qtrs. :salute:

I have a couple sets of 17x8 wheels and a set of 18x7.5 wheels that both fit without rubbing on a Gen 1 without rolled rear fenders.

Yeah, about a month behind in catching up with the Forum. No long get notifications that I'm signed up for, but that's another issue.

The Elbrus on my former white '89 are 17x7.5", 45mm offset, clears easily in the rear.

Still in the garage, need to get them up FS one of these days!
