Using Koni's at > minimum setting, are Eibachs sufficient enough for dampening? Or are Intrax better suited for the higher stiffness settings?

I have always seen Intrax Springs better suited for the Koni struts. I've run the Eibach/Koni setup before with no problems back when I had my '89. However, either way will work.

Tom, I did not know you were on here. Cool. I will be calling for some parts soon. I just love this money pit called the SHO:D

Blackhawk, I have the Eibach/Koni setup and love it. Car retains decent ride for city roads on softer settings, but is also great on track day. That said, I ahve never ridden in an Intrax sprung car, but I love my Eibach's.

I have been on the forum for quite some time now, just watching posts rather than anwsering them. Usually, I do better anwsering questions over the phone, but I'm trying a different approach with SHO Shop. Better customer service is #1 priority on the list, and other tehings like setting up various Group Buys and helping out on the forums as much as I can on general questions relating to the SHO.

If you have any constructive criticism, ideas or questions, let me know! thumbs_u

Oh yea, to keep this on topic, I like the Intrax/Koni setup. :D

This is going to be a hard decision because I am offered a used set of eibach for 35 each but I would be willing to spend the extra $60 for the intrax from summit if it is worth while. Anyone else have some more intrax input? Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against eibach or your guys opinions I just need some more intrax input. Thanks for the help

I hear that the Intrax give you a lower drop and a bit more performance but are a stiffer ride than the Eibach. Email Nook over at prosuspension.com he has used both on his SHO. He can probably sell you a set for a competitive price too.

I'd like to see what the SHOShop could do for a group buy on the Intrax/Koni or Eibach/Koni setups. I will be purchasing one of these setups this spring (income tax time). So I'd be part of it if the timing is right ! :)

Well I think I'm going for the eibachs even though under normal conditions I would take the intrax. But this deal is too good the strut housings are already modified and the springs with them for $390. Plus I don't plan to autox too much. Either way I cant wait.

Ugh..........KYBs. We just replaced struts in a car that had KYBs on it for 6 months. This thing handled like a waterbed. Horrible ride. By all means, get STOCK over the KYBs if you have to. If I can get a message out there on which struts do not work for the SHO, it would be Monroe, Gabriels, or KYBs. Stay away from either 3 unless you love replacing struts.

Be careful what you pay for, you may just get it. :p

Thanks for the info, Tom! Glad I had Shawn install Konis on the coilovers! BTW, we DO appreciate your more frequent visits over here, and would love to keep tapping into your sho experience!

I think I can give some good input on this. I had the Eibach/Tokico setup for about 1.5 years, and LIKED it. It had a soft side before actually giving a firm plant in the corners.

I now have the Intrax/Bondurant setup. I have had it in for about 1 month. My car handles like its on rails. Very firm plant through the turns with NO body roll. I wish I had bought two sets of those struts for my girls car too.

Now, my GF has my Tokico's with IPT coilovers. But other than a K+N, her car is stock.

Out of all the three set ups, I would take the Intrax/Bondurant without a second thought. I also cut one coil on my Intrax's on the fronts only for a little more agressive stance. I have only scraped once, on a speed bump- it was the muffler.

My car also has SFC's, alum. SFB's, front and rear STB's from SHOSHOP, and all the poly bushings I could buy from Energy. Hope my tells get another for the Intrax crowd.

I've installed stock springs, roush springs, eibachs, intrax, etc etc. The only springs I've had problems with after were the intrax. The drop can seriously mess up the alignment to the point you run out of adjustment. I now recommend getting the front eccentric set and rear cam bolts or equivalent with the intrax just in case.

I didn't know we had cams in our suspension too!
And I don't think the Intrax springs mess with your alignment. I have been told by a few people that the Intrax springs give a very similar ride and appearance to teh old SHOSHOP linear springs. And Edien(RISHO) has the SHOSHOP springs, and his car is by far the lowest SHO I have ever seen. He has had his car this low for two years now. Ask him if your alignment gets messed with. I'm sure he'll chime in here........

messed my alignment up pretty bad, installed bushings in the back and still couldn't get it under -2 degrees. front wouldn't go any better than - 1.3
