I have searched the forum on whether is egt gauge really necessary? I didn't really get straight answer... what I know is I do need AFR WB and boost.

Does tweccer display egt as well? I have tweccer, haven't hook it up yet.

If you do a lot of racing around or hard driving it would be very important to have one but if you will not be running it too hard then not so important. Either way "I" would still have one.

If you have wideband O2 i woukldnt run one but thats just me. I have a wideband in my turbo car and see no need for a egt gauge. I drag and drive very very hard and still see no need for one.

Where should I have the bung weld on, the cast iron manifold or steel pipe where it connect the manifold?

Will any pyrometer work?

the manafold is the best place. but if you had to go in the pipe just remeber that it will normally drop 200 degress from manafold to pipe in about 6 inches.
