drilling through strut mounts

would i hurt the integrity of the strut mount by drilling a hole through it ? minimum size would be 1/4", maximum would be 3/4". dont askwhy i want to drill it, just answer my question thumb

I did it on my Ex's parent's Continental to put Taurus struts in the rear. Won't hurt anything.

It would probably depend on how close this new hole will be to the existing hole for the strut piston, or to the edge, etc. Somewhere in the 'middle' where you'd be leaving plenty of meat around the new hole would probably be OK as long as you couldn't see/feel any weakness in the mount around the new hole.

Chris, it wouldnt be near the hole for the strut or near the spring seat area. somewhere in the middle would suffice. only reason im asking is because im not sure how much of the mount is rubber and how much is metal. if it was all metal, i would have already drilled it.
