Nice demonstration.
If those holes could be remedied, the car looks pretty good with just the indent in the door skin.
Are those rub strips supposed to be black, or are they body colour?
Those GenIIIs are looking better as the years go by.

rub strips

Rub strips eh? Is that what they're called? I'll have to edit my video titles.

Yes, long ago, they were the same color as the car. I'm going to look into how much it will set me back to have some 6061 machined to replace these old strips, with some cutouts for additional turn signals, as I mention in the vid. Plan A is to splice 3 LEDs (each a single 5050 SMD) into the front corner marker wiring on each side of the car. These will go to the 2 large holes in the front door and the forward-most large hold in the rear door. If there's a way to paint the whole strip black with tint over the led housings (to make them unnoticeable), I'll do it.

I'm also curious about cutting a hole at the bottom of each side mirror from which a high power led will shine down through a microfiche panel with "SHO" on it. The trick will be compensating for the curvature of the mirror housing to get the correct rectangular proportions to the "SHO" as it hits the ground. This will probably not happen, but it would make for a killer turn signal effect.
