Door locks inop.

I am trying to sort out all the electical problems with my '93 beater before I have the trans looked at (whole different story). The last problem I have is that the door locks don't work from the inside switches. The remote and the keypad work the locks fine. In my searching I didn't find a smiliar problem and everyone seemed to say that if the switch was dead they wouldn't work at all. Is that true? Also could I jump the connector in the door to see if the wiring is good? If so was wire color needs matched to what? Oh, I did try another switch and got the same results. TIA!

Further Testing

I found what wires to look at. The pink/Lt. Green is the unlock circuit and the pink/yellow is the lock circuit. I looked for ground and power. I found 3.x volts at the pink/lt. green circuit and 9.x volts at the pink/yellow circuit. They went to ground according to the operation on the door lock switch. Correct me if I am wrong but should there be no power at those leads until the switch is pressed? Or if there is supposed to be power shouldn't it be even, not 3 and 9 volts? I also pressed the passenger side button and got the same results. I am totally confused.

I'm not to suer about the volts but the contact points on the switch could be dirty and worn. If you run over the contact points with sand paper or emery paper that should fix it.

I already tried that. Maybe I'll clean them up more since nobody else has any suggestions...
