Why would you need a MAF adapter?

Find an old MAF from a wreck Taurus and just cut in in half...

I bought a MAF adaptor from Mustangsunlimited.com. Billet aluminum for about $50. Part# D5060 01. It has the 4 bolt pattern to fit the Ford MAF and a 4" wide opening to connect a hose or cone air filter.
