This may be an odd idea, but has anybody removed the spoiler on their car or replaced it with a trunklid from a SLO taurus(sans wing)on their SHO? If a SLO trunklid would bolt right on, it wouldn't be too much to paint match it. I would imagine the spoiler is mostly cosmetic on our cars, but maybe I am wrong. I'm not really one to go top speed anyway, and I like the understated clean lines of spoiler-less cars. Just a thought...

Look for some 92's. They dont have spoilers. Personally i like the spoiler on mine. Helps balance it out more cosmetically to me. However ive seen 92s that look good without them, such as prophets.

The car looks better without the spoiler IMO, but then again I have a 92. The spoiler on SHO's remind me of an ugly mustache.

You might be able to find someone with a same color 92 to do a straight up decklid swap.

Thank you much! :hail:

Personally I would leave the spoiler on.

Why get it color matched? Just find a SLO lid that is already in the correct color..

it's a little dusty but... *cough*

and before anyone that notices asks.. that's a SHO+ hood and in the background a set of SHO seats.. and a piece of SHO door trim on the box..

Gee.....that's almost like a classified ad. :nono:

I put a spoilered decklid on my 92, after my little fall-asleep-and-spin-into-wall incident. :frown:

If you replace your trunk with a 92 or a SLO lid, you'll need to get the package tray and rear brakelight from that car also to mount inside the car to remain legal.

Is it really illegal to be without a third brake light? What state are you in?

In california you *can* have them..

from California Vehicle Code Sec. 24603, subdivision g, second section:
" A supplemental stoplamp may be mounted inside the rear window of a vehicle, if it is mounted at the centerline of the vehicle and is constructed and mounted so as to prevent any light, other than a monitorial indicator emitted from the device, either direct or reflected, from being visible to the driver."

It doesn't say anything about it being on the trunk?

I put a 93 trunklid/spoiler onto my 92, i think it looks a lot better than a SLO looking spoilerless one. (no offense to my fellow 92 owners!) If you really want an SLo one, let me know what color you need, email me at [email protected]. :thumb:

I didn't know 92's were spoilerless, and now I've gotten to see a few of these online. I guess I thought it would make more of a difference visually than it does. Still like the clean, spoilerless look a bit more.

I don't believe SLO's came in bright red(my color), so I'd have to get a SLO deck painted. I might do it-but for now I've got taxes to pay :frown: Self employment feels good until tax time!

I think 92's should stay spoilerless. However, 93-95's should stay spoilerED  just my opinion, though.
