I’ve gathered all the parts I need for a direct port nitrous system for my SHO. My original plan was to plumb the short tubes. But before I commit I would like to get some feedback from the forum on whether I should use the primary or secondary runners for my setup. Any additional comment/suggestion would be appreciated.

The big thing is if you tap the secondaries, you'll need to make sure that you only spray after 4k. But on the other hand, you should only spray after about 3500rpm, so in reality you might as well just tap the secondaries as you'll probably wont gain much from that much from that extra 500rpm.

Just have an arming switch and a WOT trigger, that way when you go WOT under 3500, you can manually switch the nitrous on once you get past 4k. But, that's from a launch or a very slow roll. From a faster roll, you shouldn't have any problems.

If your not going to use a controller(ie maximizer) I would get rid of the secondery plates, or invest in a window switch. Also, I wanted to use some weld in bungs for the nozzles, seeing as how when you port the runners, there really isnt much meat left to tap. But if your using NX piranha nozzles they are 1/16". I could never find weld in bungs this size, aside of edlebrock who makes a bung you have to drill and tap. If your using an 1/8" nozzle, there are plenty of weld in fittings for those. What brand/kit do you have put together?

The block is NOS part number 16725NOS 1/8" NPT in and out. The rest of the system is Dynotune and I will be getting an RPM window switch as you suggested.

If you're plumbing a wet direct port nitrous system, it doesn't matter where you gig the bottle (secondaries open or closed). Remember that the system injects fuel and air (nitrous).

That said, there is a window switch that ties into TP volts and RPM. Sells for $300ish, but really does a nice job.

+1 on the WOT switch. If something doesn't go right, your first reaction is to lift off the throttle.
