Differnces in Official Ford Taurus SHO shop guides.

I have a question about the official Ford shop guides for the SHO. Is there a major difference between the years that the shop manuals came out? Or is there a standard one for that was just updated with yearly addition? There is one I can buy that is for 1992 and I was wondering if there is a major difference for a 1995? There is a pretty major difference between a 92 and a 95 as far as mechanics and wiring goes. You really need to find a 93-95 manual (one of those years) for it to work. 92 was kind of the bastard year for the SHO; it was inbetween generations.

There are even significant wiring differences between 93 and 94/95, so you should find a 94 or 95 manual for your 95, otherwise you will have unneeded frustration.

For the diagrams , use the specific year ,

For the mechanical stuff (IE Engine/torques) , 92-95 is all the same.

So a book on the 1992s should be good for the mechanics of the Gen IIs( enigine, trans, etc...), but not on the wirin g diagrams? Would a Haynes or Chilton be a good subsitute for the wiring schematics? Thanks again for any advice.

If you need any help with wiring I could always be of some assistance. and Im sure a haynes would do you some good. I was thinking of picking one up tomorrow for the 92

A Haynes or Chilton would be completely worthless for wiring. They have virtually no wiring diagrams, what they do have is for a slo, not a SHO, and many of those are incorrect.

If you need wiring diagrams, you must buy Ford manuals with the wiring diagrams.

Man you guys are fast, thanks for that. As far as a Chilton or Haynes goes that is what i figured, but for mechanicals are concerned the 1992 manual will be fine?

Yeah, for just basic remove/install stuff, a haynes will be fine (the Chilton has more than a few vital inaccuracies in it [spark plug wire routing, for one], so I'd avoid that). For wiring, you need an EVTM for your specific year, or at least one from 93-95.
