Differental Broken?

ok well just heard from the shop that the tranny is busted. the main person was not there tho so i didnt get awhole lot i have to go in on monday and find out exactly what is wrong tho but the 2 new axles did nothing time to rip out 2 trannys... ugh

huh , whats BUSTED for that guy?

not that i know of... lol its the meshing togther? i really dont undertand trannys that much but from wht i get from it the meshng is busted? or something weird like that i prolly just cant explain it right

I find that kind of strange that you messed up the meshing..

Oh, the trans meshing is busted....interesting. Must have been caused by the lack of blinker fluid.

Get in writing exactly what's broken and post it.

i shall try i go to pick up my car later today and i will ask him EXACTLY what is wrong with my car since i personally have not talked to him. even then i doubt he will give me a straight answer... only good thing about this is he is NOT! lol charging me for any of the labor or parts involved with this.... which includes taking out both axles *one of them was stuck in had to remove passenger side and push the other one out * and 2 new axles *yes they were replaced right before i took it to the shop but hey now they are even newer lol* really have no idea why it was in there so tightly.... may have something to do with it being broken lol but as far as i know the car has been driven for at least a hundred feet or so with this noise so if it was the pin that came out shouldnt i have a hole in the tranny by now i have a new tranny waiting to go in but ya know... i dont feel like takin it completely apart when i really dont have to. but hey thanx for the info bizzy and others

lol got my car back today... went directly to the shop owner... asked him what is wrong with my car... he said and had it put on the paper he gave me*after he charged me 114 for parts on 2 subframe bushings!!!! and then not to mention the 140 in labor!! A$$! i coulda done it myself* well off that topic. he said differental is defiently broken wouldnt tell me why or how. said he wouldnt know unless he started dissambling it. i was like no its coming home with me and i will do the rest of the work but all he said is the dif is shot and then i asked him if a pin had went and he was like no i really dont think so and i cant see a hole in your tranny either but i really couldnt tell ya what happened so there... im stuck should i listen to him and pull the tranny.... i wanna get it quaifed anyways but that wont happen till spring *good in a way since i can store it in winter now*

First off, did you ever tell him anything about the differential, as in you think that might be it? If so, you set your self up and that's what he was going to charge you for just to make you feel that you were right, even if it was just a tie rod end.

If I was you and that was my car I wouldn't let him touch another thing on it.

And just for ***** and giggles, ask him how much he'd charge you to rebuild it, where's he's going to get new parts at and what he'd seal the case with. Seriously, I'd like to know the answers to all those questions.

lol well ok i did not say anything about the dif he went and came to that himself... but i did come in a VERY VERY big break through with this now. got my car backed into the garage to do my interior swap. then as its sitting there idling waiting for my battery to charge since it had died on my at the shop. i hear a rattling. oh yes..... get out and its definetly coming from in the tranny. so the dif pin came out and is rattling around so its staying in the garage now untill the tranny comes out lol i dont feel like having a hole in it. oh he also said that it would cost 500 to get the tranny out... and then he would be sending it to the tranny shop in milwaukee. i was like ummm no i think ill have someone else rebuild it for me.... and plus i want a quaife.

and thanx for the link to those tie rods. i am going to be replacing almost everything on the car this winter and spring. motor tranny and lots of other misc stuff that came along with my parts car hehe i do love parts cars now
