I'm thinking of getting the diff pins welded while I have the tranny out. I did a search and found lots of info about getting it welded, but no one explaining the process to remove the diff from the transmission. I only seen one post saying its easier then it looks. By the look, you have to open the trans in half? Anyone care to explain step by step instruction for easiest way to remove the diff. Even the position the tranny should be when doing this. I'm afraid to open the case that everythings going to fall out and I won't know how to put it together.

Once the case is unbolted, the differential isn't mounted to anything. Removed the gearset as a whole (pick everything up together and remove) and the differential will come out. Start with a service manual or Josh's video (www.shonutperformance.com).

Ok, so just unbolt the case, remove, and the transmission will stay together? And just remove the differential from there. What side should the tranny be on to best achieve this? I'm prob going to do this tomorrow, no time to wait for a video to come in the mail.
