You wouldn't be increasing it by that much, or at least shouldn't be. Although I'm curious as how you would accomplish this. These pumps are PWM, being controlled by a fuel pump control module, not the traditional relay driven fuel pumps...It is that FPCM that may or may not be able handle any additional current. I haven't seen anyone really tax the factory system in our platform yet.

The increase in voltage i believe was just a simple answer to the question.

Nope. I was wrong looks like the pump runs @ 5.5 volts and 12 volts.

Usually the pump will out put about 70(?) Psi at low speed and at or above 100 at full speed. I know the engine can idle strictly of the electric fuel pump pressure.

Yes, basically with PWM, the pump will always run at 100% of its rated speed, but simply turns off and on at whatever resolution is required to maintain commanded fuel pressure. This off/on happens very rapidly. That's why PWM driven pumps actually draw more current at lower duty cycles then they do at higher duty cycles as they are switching off and on very quickly to maintain lower pressures vs WOT, where the pump may be simply on...

Thank you. Very impressive but beyond my capability. I think it was a question of liability if the mechanic broke something during the mod more than his competence.
Btw, if your mechanic isn't comfortable doing the mod, find a local tuner/race shop. They may take that on. Lee at Ortiz might be open to it as well.

****, if nothing else, send me the parts and I would do it for you. Charging you of course, but still willing to do it, and I've done it twice already, so I'm decently familiar with the process.

Anyway, just saying, you've got options.

From the limited research I've done the bottom line appears to be that the LPFP upgrade is wholly unnecessary even with the XDI-35 if you are running gas. There just isnt any reason absent an e85 tune. Have I got this right?

Yes, I personally think so. Maybe some of the tuners here can elaborate, but you should be good, minus full e85
