Been here for a while and haven't even noticed this section because it didn't have Gen3 at the front. Hopefully my knowledge will be able to help out here a bit and make some peoples lives easier. Aside from being a Police Officer, I have been installing car audio, video and security for 17 years. I own a car and home audio installation business on the side called On-Site Mobile Installtions. Something for a little side money and now just something I do when I have time. I worked at car audio shops for around 5-6 years until I realized it wasn't something I wanted a job for the rest of my life. I now do it mostly for fun and some extra spending cash. Like to build PC's now more so than that but still am willing to help who ever needs help.

Here are a few pics of my Gen 3 install. Nothing special, just something to do at the time and because of that cursed radio from Ford.

Custom fiberglass dash kit. (Pain in the A%^!)

I would **** to have pics of my 93 for you guys to see. That was one KICK AZZ install. Fiberglassed the front speakers into the front kickpanels. 3 - 12" subs ina sort of "U" shape in the back with a custom panel to hide it all when the trunk was open.

If I can help anyone out, please feel free to email, PM, or just ask here. If I don't respond, it is only because I have been slack in visiting this forum so PM me and slap me around.

Very nice install Tunez!! I like the custom fiberglass dash job for the cd player. It looks very clean and that amp looks as if it is just floating in the air; cool! thumb

OK What should I do with this stuff in a Gen 1. I have had this stuff lying around for years. I may as well use it. It all works great.

That would be the one in the front. Is that an Orion 2150?

I especially like the Orion Extreme box in the back!! My friend has one of those boxes with two 10's in it and it hits really deep and HARD! What size of sub is in that box, one 12"? Looks to be a nice setup, with everything; why so many amps though, you planning to add a large system with more than the usual factory amount of speakers?

(Custom Box)

What are my Orion 225HCCA and 250HCCA's worth out in the market now? Bought them back around 1998, made my 12" JL Audio W4 D3's pound hard in RI-SHO, got to love amps made for 1/2 ohm stable loads :D , sucks how they were bought out a little after the year 2000 and IMO there quality isn't where it used to be.

I just installed the head unit and it looks Awesome. There is 1 12" Extreme in there and it pounds in this box. I thought it was going to shatter the glass in my 93 5.0 hatch when it was brand new so I yanked this stuff and just sat on it. The Old Orion Black Extreme and Red HCCAs are very very good but the Gold Orions are the best if you can find one. Mc Intosh blows ALL away in my opinion and was thinking of dumping everything and going that way but it is Big Bucks. The HCCAs bring a nice buck RI SHO and you could dump them fast if you wanted. I agree that the new stuff is not Top notch anymore. I am probably going to use this stuff for 2 cars. My SHO and Ranchero. I think I will probably go with the 600,300,300X4 Hot Set Orions in the SHO with a YAMAHA 3 way X over with the speakers in the factory places with the box in the trunk. Got to have that Yamaha component in there LOL. Maybe a little overkill on the tweets but I can tune it way down. I kind of wanted the amps to be visible because the lights in the eyes of the Skulls flash when the amps hit. I have Orion dome tweeters with crossovers, alpine mids, and alpine deck speakers that will bolt right in to all the factory places. Then I will have the black Orion Extreme with a the Phoenix Gold 2 way X over and the Alpine for the Ranchero. I still am thinking exactly what I want to do and use.
