I am getting a used D4UI with an unknown LPM attached. I was only looking for the D4UI to replace the original in my 93 ATX. Is it best not to use the LPM? The threads I have read say these need to be car specific to function correctly. Do you just unplug the ribbon from the box or the chip board from the ribbon cable?
thanks

Hope this fixes the funky 1-2 shift I have had since buying the car 70k ago.

You don't sem to have any info as to what car and mods the LPM came from so it would be a crap shoot. You could try it out but without knowing what the a/f will be you could do more harm than good with it installed. TO remove it, unplug the LPM and reset the idle when you get the new box installed.
